WHERE FARM, FAMILY, FRINGE & FASHION MEET

During the Spring of 2022, Carrie Parrish opened Grit & Gallop’s first location in Roanoke. Her
idea for the store all started a couple years prior when she found herself always needing riding pants, boots, gloves, or a helmet for Taylor (her daughter) and would have to go online. Not being able to try on the products and feel them was the “ah-hah” moment she needed. So, she brought an equestrian-style boutique to town offering the most popular and reliable brands for months to come. Sadly, in November 2023, Carrie announced the closure of G&G so her family could come first. Shortly after this announcement, Cory Ayers reached out to Carrie inquiring about what it would look like if she took over G&G. Cory felt strongly that this shopping experience needed to stay in town, while bringing in more western apparel for men, women, children and pets.

In March 2024, Grit & Gallop reopened its doors in the second location, the old Coil Factory in Roanoke. Just blocks down from the previous location. As a mother and wife herself, Cory too understood the importance of needing to try on before buying. While equestrian products are still present in the store, Cory is excited to also introduce more men’s apparel, women’s apparel, kids apparel, jewelry, leather bags, cowhide rugs, shoes & boots for all sizes, and more.
